Born in Alenxandria 1958, he graduated from the Egyptian Institute of Cinema in 1984. Selim worked as assistant photographer with Egyptian DP Said al-Shimi in underwater sequences. Later, he went to shoot more than 20 works varying between film and television, such as the films Black HoneyThe Dealer and One Hour and a Half. He received many awards for his works in films like Tito and Yacoubian Building. He was Jury Member of National Film Society Festival 2009.
